‘When the Game Stands Tall’ Releasing Nationwide

Releasing nationwide on Friday, August 22, “When the Game Stands Tall” is a movie based on the true story of football Coach Bob Ladouceur and the record-breaking 151-game winning streak with the De La Salle High School Spartans in Concord, California. Ladouceur is not only known for the winning streak, but also for teaching life lessons to his players on and off the field at the Lasallian school.

“To have a great story from De La Salle High School brought to the screen by such a talented group of people is an honor,” said the school’s President Mark DeMarco in this recent story. “What thrills us most is that so many people who didn’t know us before have grasped what this school is all about. They see that what our teachers and staff and coaches value and embody are responsibility, accountability, and commitment.”

Highlighted in this film is the real-life adversity faced by the team and the challenges they had to overcome, all while showcasing the importance of teamwork, sacrifice and commitment, as well as the core values of the Lasallian mission. Watch the movie trailer >
