USCCB Contest: ‘A Time to Heal Racism’

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has announced the 2018-19 Creating on the Margins contest theme: “A Time to Heal Racism.”

Each year, the USCCB offers a Creating on the Margins contest to help schools and parishes engage youth in learning about the root causes of poverty and the Church’s response. Through this contest, youth in grades 7-12 learn about poverty in the U.S., its causes, Catholic social teaching and the work of Catholic groups to address poverty. Youth will then create multimedia work (e.g. video, song, painting, drama, poetry, etc.) to educate others on what they have learned. The national deadline to submit entries is March 31.

The Creating on the Margins contest is sponsored by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, the domestic, anti-poverty program of the USCCB.
