Two High School Coaches Honored

Two coaches at Lasallian high schools have been honored for their work on and off their fields.

MichlerTerry Michler, Soccer Coach at Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, MO, was named the 2010 Coach of the Year in Boys Soccer by the National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches Association. He is one of only 21 coaches in various sports to receive this honor. This award is based on career coaching record, community service, involvement in other school activities, involvement at the local, state, and national levels, and a coach’s basic philosophy of athletics.

CotruvoRich Cotruvo, Football Coach at Justin-Siena High School in Napa, CA, was honored with the California Interscholastic Federation’s Model Coach Award. He is one of only 13 coaches to be selected for this award, which recognizes coaches who have served as positive role models in their schools and communities and who demonstrate and teach six core ethical values: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. He was also named the National Federation of State High School Associations’ 2010 West Sectional Coach of the Year for football, which includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.
