Smith and Jimenez

(L-R) Executive Director and Principal Tad Smith with Board of Directors Trustee Phillip Jiménez

San Miguel School in Chicago, IL, is undergoing transitions as it plans for a future of serving students, especially those who are financially disadvantaged.

As of June 5, 2013, the school eliminated the role of president. Phillip Jiménez, who served as president, is now a member of the board of trustees and will also serve on the advancement committee. In its new structure, principal Tad Smith will serve as executive director and principal. The changes are the culmination of several months of preparation and planning in an effort to reduce administrative expenses and allow for fundraising efforts to be focused on education.
