Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota hosted a cornerstone commemoration on June 23, 2012 to launch a yearlong 100th anniversary celebration.
Hundreds of people attended the commemoration and reception, which also included the unveiling of a display with the trowel that helped lay the 1912 cornerstone. President Brother William Mann accepted a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol from the office of Rep. Tim Walz, Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District. The celebration ended with a cake cutting, along with a release of balloons and streamers.
This is the first of many celebrations planned to mark the anniversary.
