Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, is launching a unique service initiative to give students, faculty, and staff different opportunities to serve the community.
“CBU S.O.S. – September of Service: 30 Days of Good Deeds” will offer various service opportunities each day in September. Putting the Lasallian values of faith, service, and community into action, CBU S.O.S. will benefit Memphis agencies while raising awareness of the needs in the Memphis community and how CBU can help.
Senior biology major Lauryn Murphy called the program a way to put CBU on the map for service. “I think it will be an awesome opportunity for students to find organizations that really interest and intrigue them,” she said. “I also think it will let the Memphis community know that we truly want to help out, and maybe it will even open up more doors and opportunities for us!”
