The Diocese of Providence has announced the appointment of Daniel Richard as principal of Saint Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, RI. The longtime high school teacher and retired Air Force pilot and officer started the position July 1.
Richard helped open Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton, FL in the early 1980s before entering the Air Force where he became a teacher, mentor, and combat pilot. After his 22 years of military service, he taught Air Force Junior ROTC at Woonsocket High School in Woonsocket, RI before accepting the position at Saint Raphael’s.
Richard holds a B.A. in history and secondary education from Westfield State College, a M.A. in education from Long Island University and secondary education certification from Providence College.
