From a Twinning Summit to a new Visitor to a profession of vows and the latest newsletters – Africa’s Lwanga District has been busy!

Twinning SummitParticipants of the District of Eastern North America (DENA) 2014 Twinning Summit are home reflecting on their experiences and developing ways to use those experiences to improve their twinning relationships with ministries in Lwanga. Abel Gutierrez, Director of Educational Technology at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, CA, put together this video on the visit.

Profession of VowsSeven Brothers made their first profession of vows on July 5. Pictured with Brother Ghebreyesus Habte, FSC, new Visitor of the Lwanga District (left), are Brothers Moses, Godwin, Solomon, James, Amanuel, Peter, and Cornelius. Brother Vincent Pelletier, FSC, of DENA, animated an eight-day retreat for the Brothers leading up to their first profession.

Bisrate GabrielThe Lwanga District released its latest newsletter, which includes information on various ministries, leadership changes, the novitiate, and more. News includes highlights from twinned ministries such as Bisrate Gabriel, St. Joseph School in Addis Ababa, and Mount La Salle College. Read it here >

CTIE-graduationChrist the Teacher Institute for Education (CTIE) in Nairobi, Kenya, recently released the graduation issue of its newsletter, which also includes information about DENA’s Twinning Summit. Brother Robert Smith, FSC, Vice President for the Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs (SGPP) at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and former CTIE director, presided over CTIE’s graduation ceremonies. CTIE is an institute of Saint Mary’s University and Tangaza University College. Brother Dennis Lee, FSC, of DENA, who was recently assigned to CTIE for one year, created this newsletter.
