New Twinning Resources for 2015

This Lenten season, we are reminded of the connection we share with Lasallians in the Lwanga District of Africa through the twinning program, which includes 13 ministries in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria. This year marks the 20th anniversary of our twinning program. Our Region established the twinning program in 1995 in response to a call from the Institute for Districts capable of providing funds to partner with Districts in need. Schools in the United States and Toronto are twinned with ministries in the Lwanga District, not only to support them financially, but also to build relationships as brothers and sisters in the Lasallian family.

In the video below, Brother Ghebreysus Habte, FSC, the Lwanga District Visitor, talks about how the Lasallian mission connects us, what life is like for young people in his District, how the twinning program impacts ministries, and what we can all do to improve our twinning relationships. You can also watch a video of students in the United States and the Lwanga District praying in solidarity.

During Lent, many schools in the United States raise money for their twin schools.
