“Our Hearts Are Burning Within Us” is the Lasallian theme for the 2018-2019 liturgical year, which begins December 2, 2018, the same date that the Year of Lasallian Vocations begins.
Lasallians are invited to explore and celebrate the theme in their ministries and communities. Lasallian Reflection 4, “Lasallians: Hearts on Fire,” accompanies the theme and is inspired by the story of the disciples of Emmaus (Luke 24:13). It also highlights the Tercentenary of Saint John Baptist de La Salle’s passage to eternal life and the Year of Lasallian Vocations. The reflection starts with an invitation to: recognize that these 300 years of Lasallian life have been a gift from God to us; keep following the vocation to which God has called us and helping others to discover their own call; and to renew the commitment to our education and evangelization mission. It also includes discussion points that can be used in ministries and communities.
After the 45th General Chapter, the Brother Superior and General Council developed themes through the year 2021 in the spirit of the Chapter. Each yearly theme supports the overall theme of “Living Together Our Joyful Mission.”
The logo for this year’s reflection was designed by the Lasallian Region of North America.
