Feedback Requested on Adolescent Catechesis Project

the-national-initiative-for-adolescent-catechesis-croppedThe Partnership for Adolescent Catechesis (PAC) is requesting feedback on its first draft of the document “The Joy of Adolescent Catechesis.” The title is a combination of Pope Francis’ encyclical Evangelii Gaudium (2013) and The Challenge of Adolescent Catechesis (1986). The goal is for high school theology teachers, youth ministers, volunteer catechists, etc. to use this document to inspire, challenge and give direction in their ministry.

To share your feedback, download and read the introduction and draft here. Then, review and discuss the draft with others. You can submit feedback as a group or individually through this survey by June 1, 2015.

The PAC plans to have a second draft reviewed in 2016 and have the final document available in 2017.

Formed in 2003, PAC is a collaboration of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, National Catholic Educational Association, and National Conference for Catechetical Leadership with support of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The PAC launched the National Initiative for Adolescent Catechesis in 2007 to create a new paradigm for how the Church forms the faith of young people for discipleship and to assist parishes and schools across the country in assessing, re-thinking and changing their methods and structures in light of the initiative outcomes.
