Bethlehem University was featured in an article from Our Sunday Visitor on December 10, 2014. The article highlights the Catholic school as a symbol of interreligious success in an area of the world that faces many challenges, including recent violence in the Gaza Strip, daily travel restrictions, and Israeli military checkpoints that has made it difficult for students who attend Bethlehem.
In the article, Bishop William Shomali, auxiliary bishop of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, described Bethlehem as “an oasis of peace where Muslim and Christian students and teachers live, study and work in concord and harmony.”
