An innovative partnership put in place with an eye toward future sustainability of the mission provides leadership for the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (De La Salle Christian Brothers). The Regional Conference of Christian Brothers (RCCB) and the Lasallian Education Council (LEC) share responsibility for the Lasallian mission in RELAN.
The RCCB is a canonical body within the Region comprised of the Brother Visitors (Provincials) for each District in RELAN, the General Councilor for the Region, and other invited members. In 2011, the RCCB established the LEC as a way to share responsibility for mission formation and education programs, collaboration between Districts, and the creation of greater partnerships within and outside the Lasallian world to strengthen the legacy of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. LEC members include both Brothers and Partners from a variety of ministries throughout the Region.
