Prayers and Hope Continue for Nigeria

On behalf of the entire Lasallian family, the Brother delegates to the 45th General Chapter sent a letter to the President of Nigeria, Mr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, urging him to do all he can to free the more than 200 young Nigerian girls who were kidnapped by terrorists last month.

The letter also encourages the president and the government to continue actions that ensure and favor educational access to all young children, male and female, as stated in the Nigerian Constitution. The letter expresses the deep commitment of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools to continue offering educational opportunities in Nigeria and throughout the world, as well as treating all human beings equally with special attention to children’s rights.

Please continue to pray for the safe return of the Nigerian girls and for the work of the 45th General Chapter.
