Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is seeking a visionary and entrepreneurial leader for the position of Vice President of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs (VP-SGPP). Founded in 1912, Saint Mary's is a private, Lasallian, Catholic university under the sponsorship of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. Saint Mary's University enrolls approximately 5,700 students at two primary campuses: Winona and Minneapolis. The residential Winona campus is home to the approximately 1,400 undergraduate students as well as the central administration. The Minneapolis campus is home to the SGPP, which has approximately 4,300 adult learners enrolled in 50 degree and certificate programs on both campuses. The VP¬SGPP provides dynamic, experienced, and collaborative leadership as the chief executive officer for the SGPP. The VP works to empower the Deans of the Graduate Schools of Health and Human Services, Education, and Business, and the Dean of Bachelor Completion and Professional Programs to be effective entre¬preneurial leaders and collaborative managers within their areas or schools. The VP works strategically to develop a highly effective Board of Regents. The VP develops and maintains an operational structure sufficient to support the SGPP and its Deans, and promotes and attracts grant opportunities. The VP strives to assure a visible presence of the SGPP in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area and broadens university connections with alumni and benefactors. As chief academic officer for the SGPP, the Vice President fosters innovative educational programming that is cohesive with the University's mission of educating students for lives of ethical leadership and service. The VP-SGPP reports directly to the President and is part of the President's Cabinet. The VP resides in the Minneapolis area with an office on the Minneapolis campus.
An earned doctorate is preferred for this position. A minimum of five years of management experience in higher education, preferably in an executive or other operational role, is required. Experience with program development and significant entre¬preneurial background is strongly preferred. A successful candidate will understand, support, and be willing to promote the Lasallian, Catholic mission of the University.
