Districts of NO-SF and SF Mission Councils Meet Before Huether

MeetingThe Mission Councils of the District of New Orleans-Santa Fe (NO-SF) and the District of San Francisco (SF) met November 19 – 21 in New Orleans, LA, in conjunction with the Huether Lasallian Conference. This marks another historic moment in the creation story of the new District of San Francisco New Orleans that will be inaugurated on July 1, 2014.

The two-day meeting included presentations on the histories and structures of both councils, followed by facilitated discussions that utilized the meeting as a way to look for new opportunities for the Mission/Mission and Ministry Councils of the new merged District. The results of the dialogues will be combined into a report that will ultimately be used to decide the future process and outline recommendations for the new Brother Visitor of the District.

DiscussionBrother Visitors Timothy Coldwell of NO-SF and Donald Johanson of SF attended the meeting that was organized by the two Districts’ Offices of Education/Mission. The meeting included prayer, meals, socializing, and tours of the four New Orleans schools and Brothers Communities: St. Paul’s School in Covington, Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, Christian Brothers School in New Orleans, and De La Salle High School in New Orleans – where the NO-SF and SF Districts’ dinner was held November 22 as part of Huether.
